Concrete and granite place very different demands on a diamond saw blade. Concrete is abrasive and often contains steel reinforcement, while granite is extremely hard but more brittle. Using the wrong blade leads to slow cutting, premature wear, or poor edge quality.
For reinforced concrete, laser-welded or sintered segmented blades are the industry standard. Look for a soft bond when cutting hard concrete and a harder bond for soft or green concrete. Turbo or segmented rims improve cooling and slurry removal. For heavy demolition, combo blades with undercut protection handle rebar better than general-purpose tile blades.
Granite requires a continuous rim or fine-segment blade with a harder metal bond. The diamond grit should be fine to medium for clean edges on countertops and monuments. Avoid aggressive demolition blades on granite—they cut fast initially but chip the stone and wear unevenly.
